摘要: This investigation measured pulpal blood flow and sensitivity to electrical stimulation as tooth temperatures were lowered. Dark rubber dams placed on test teeth before placement of the cooling device in an attempt shield gingival microcirculation. Laser Doppler flowmetry was used measure pulp flow, whereas sensory thresholds recorded simultaneously using electric tester. As lowered, became less responsive. Pulp also slowed, but did not completely stop. Results indicated that altered, some subjects, abolished, without total cessation flow.
