摘要: An understanding of sediment transport processes and resultant concentration dynamics in estuaries is great importance to engineering design awareness the management these environments. Predictive modelling approaches provide an opportunity investigate address potential system responses nominated events, changes, or conditions interest, often on high temporal spatial resolution scales. In this study, a three-dimensional hydrodynamic model wave were validated applied generate forcing for input into period 7 May 2010–30 October 2010 within macro tidal estuary, Port Curtis estuary (Australia). The was verified against surface near-bottom current measurements. accurately reproduced variations currents at both mid-estuary upper-estuary location. Sediment predictions performed under varying meteorological over 180-day turbidity data collected six stations estuary. able predict magnitudes levels modulation induced by neap spring tides wind-wave variations. model-predicted (converted) compared favourably with measured water all stations. study results have useful practical application including providing predictive capabilities support selection locations monitoring/compliance sites.
