摘要: The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is of paramount importance for daily life. Its regulatory action on respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, and many other systems controlled by a number structures in the CNS. While majority these nuclei cortices have been identified animal models, neuroimaging studies recently begun to shed light central processing humans. In this study, we used activation likelihood estimation conduct meta-analysis human experiments evaluating localize (1) cortical subcortical areas involved processing, (2) potential subsystems sympathetic parasympathetic divisions ANS, (3) specific ANS responses different stimuli/tasks. Across all tasks, set consistently activated brain regions, comprising left amygdala, right anterior posterior insula midcingulate that form core network. sympathetic-associated regions predominate executive- salience-processing networks, default mode Hence, function does not simply involve monolithic network instead showing elements task division specificity.
