Spherical debris—Its occurrence, formation and significance in rolling contact fatigue

摘要: Abstract Scanning electron microscopical investigation of fracture sufaces and lubricant debris has revealed that spherical is a characteristic feature associated with rolling contact fatigue. It formed by deformation processes within propagating fatigue cracks. Its detection suggested as diagnostic aid for the indication distress in critical mechanisms.
