摘要: In this chapter, we present an extension of the DBD approach to product family design. Products that share a common platform but have specific features and functionality required by different sets customers form family. design, achieving commonality for minimizing producer’s cost is competing objective with meeting variability consumer preference. The Decision-Based Design employed here complex decision makings in First, introduce market segmentation grid help understand variants needed, then nested logit model estimate demand considering segmentation. We next create formulation making decisions optimal line positioning “commonality” decisions, levels engineering design attributes. demonstrate method using case study universal electric motors.
