摘要: Objectives Copeptin, the C-terminal fragment of antidiuretic hormone, is a new biomarker that has been found to be elevated in several disorders and could related with prognosis. This study aimed compare plasma copeptin levels patients restless legs syndrome (RLS) healthy individuals investigate whether were associated severity disease. Material methods 41 primary RLS, who followed Bakirkoy Psychiatry Neurology Research Training Hospital 41 age- sex-matched included into study. RLS divided subgroups as mild-moderate, severe, very severe according symptoms. Sleep quality excessive daytime sleepiness determined Pittsburgh Quality Index Epworth Sleepiness Scale, respectively, sleep scores analyzed statistically among groups disease severity. Copeptin all compared controls. each other evaluate association between severity. Results Plasma significantly higher than controls (P < .001). However, there was no Excessive 14.63% low 68.29% patients. Conclusions Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis activation sympathetic hyperactivity might responsible for increased Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) release. We think have potential role pathogenesis this disease.
