摘要: A family of six homoleptic [CuI (Ln )]2 (ClO4 )2 and heteroleptic )(PPh3 ]2 bimetallic complexes, in which Ln are bis-Schiff base ligands with alkyl spacers variable length (n=2-7 -CH2 -), were prepared to evaluate the role spacer on formation helicates or mesocates. In series, spectroscopic theoretical studies indicate that preferences for a conformation based energetic parameters, mainly, establishment noncovalent interactions. The odd-even nature preconditions superposition aromatic rings allow juxtaposition necessary interactions, whereas increase reduces strength such Consequently, complexes even-spacers short identified as solution, )]22+ (n=2, 4). Complexes (n=3-7) dissociate solution produce monometallic equilibrium, )]+ . stability species is discussed terms their conformations. set was reach "odd-even rule" solid, "zig-zag" arrangements spacers. Based crystallographic information, "S-" "C"-type conformations related even odd spacers, respectively. This trend considered addition other factors explain either mesocate helicate series.
