摘要: Spinally projecting noradrenergic neurons located in the locus coeruleus/subcoeruleus (LC/SC) are a major source of innervation spinal cord. However, specific terminations these have not been clearly defined. The purpose this chapter is to describe results experiments that used anterograde tracer Phaseolus vulgaris leucoagglutinin combination with dopamine-beta-hydroxylase immunocytochemistry more precisely determine cord LC/SC. indicate axons LC primarily ipsilateral ventral funiculus and terminate most heavily medial part laminae VII VIII, motoneuron pool lamina IX, X. provide moderately dense dorsal horn, but only very sparse superficial horn. SC projects ipsilaterally ventrolateral terminates diffusely intermediate Finally, preliminary different rat substrains may exhibit qualitatively termination patterns More specifically, some innervate while those other horn zone.
