摘要: Abstract. Mobilisation of terrestrial organic carbon (terrOC) from permafrost environments in eastern Siberia has the potential to deliver significant amounts Arctic Ocean, via both fluvial and coastal erosion. Eroded terrOC can be degraded during offshore transport or deposited across wide East Siberian Shelf (ESAS). Most studies on ESAS have concentrated solvent-extractable matter, but this represents only a small proportion total load. In study we used pyrolysis–gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (py-GCMS) all major groups macromolecular components terrOC; is first time that technique been applied ESAS. This shown there strong trend phenols, aromatics cyclopentenones marine pyridines. There good agreement between phenols measured using py-GCMS independent quantification lignin phenol concentrations (r2 = 0.67, p
