摘要: Epiaortic ultrasonography has high sensitivity for the detection of atherosclerosis. In several studies, technique identified atherosclerosis ascending aorta as major risk factor stroke after cardiac surgery. The level depends on presence, location and extent disease when is surgically manipulated. This knowledge enables clinicians to focus diagnostic surgical consider various options. Routine use intraoperative epiaortic should be applied so that manipulation can reduced or, if possible, avoided in patients with aorta. Alternatively, such clamping must performed presence severe atherosclerosis, intra-aortic filters could considered.
