摘要: The concept of "fitness" is a notion central importance to evolutionary theory. Yet the interpretation this and its role in explanations phenomena have remained obscure. We provide propensity fitness, which we argue captures intended reference term as it used by theorists. Using Hempelian reconstruction phenomena, show why charges circularity been levelled against theory are mistaken. Finally, definition natural selection follows from handles all types discussed biologists, thus improving on extant definitions.
