Electrochemical Performance of PMMA/Al 2 O 3 Composite Coatings

摘要: In this work, a series of composite samples were prepared by sol-gel method using PMMA (Poly methyl methacrylate) and Al2O3 (Aluminium dioxide). The as-prepared composites then characterized Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns Scanning Electron microscopy (SEM). Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) polarization measurements have been used to evaluate the coating performance in 3.5% NaCl. According EIS measurements, coatings showed improved corrosion resistance due formation protective oxide films which act as barrier oxygen diffusion metal surface.
