摘要: This chapter is concerned with behavioral and electrophysiologic evidence of awakenings. Awakenings are understood here as a state change from sleeping to waking. We will discuss the methodological issues problem properly defining an awakening. With regard phenomena preceding awakening, we look at arousals compare background event-related activity in electroencephalography (EEG). As arousability varies between within species, relevant EEG correlates this variability described. Concerning changes following discussion focuses on sleep inertia effects.
