摘要: Methane with carbon and hydrogen isotope composition diagnostic of abiotic gas related to serpentinization peridotites has been detected for the first time in ophiolitic aquifer United Arab Emirates (UAE), along Wadi Ham fault. This methane is isotopically similar that previously reported serpentinization-related springs Oman, same Semail ophiolite nappe. Abiotic may be widespread these rocks. Conventional thermogenic fields sedimentary basin overthrusted by could “contaminated” some extent this gas. confound accurate characterization gases (origin, type source rock maturity) thus associated petroleum system model.
