摘要: Electrical conductivity (EC) of milk is an indicator mastitis. If EC shows genetic variation and genetically correlated to mastitis, it could be used in a breeding program that includes selection for improved mastitis resistance. In this study, daily records from about 1,500 Holstein cows were analyzed. A bivariate animal model was estimation (co)variance components, including fixed effects age calving, herd-test-day, days milk, addition random additive permanent environmental effects. For EC, the estimated heritability moderate (0.22 0.39), whereas low (0.013). The correlation between 0.75, improvement resistance should feasible through reduced EC.
