摘要: The state of the art in D-brane model building is briefly reviewed, focusing on recent achievements construction D=4 N = 1 type II string vacua with semi-realistic gauge sectors. Such progress relies a better understanding spectrum BPS D-branes, effective field theory obtained from them and explicit vacua. We first consider D-branes standard Calabi-Yau compactifications, then more involved case compactifications fluxes. discuss how non-trivial interplay between fluxes modifies previous model-building rules, as well provides new possibilities to connect particle physics.
