Robust Measures of Location for Directional Data

摘要: Established techniques for robust M estimation of a location parameter are adapted use in directional data. In particular, periodic version any the commonly used ψ functions can be to define comparable estimator angular location. This technique is illustrated with numerical example and small simulation study. The proposed estimators appear perform at efficiency levels similar those ordinary linear case.
