Plasma protein changes following hypothalamic lesions in the rabbit

摘要: Bilateral electrolytic brain lesions were made in fourteen rabbits. Protein changes occurred seven animals which the involved mamillary region of hypothalamus. Following there was a fall plasma albumin concentration these animals, reaching lowest level by fourth day. Thereafter some recovery but levels showed greater variation than control period and had lower mean value. There no change total nitrogen turnover that could be detected balance studies rate breakdown appeared to same as found normal animal. It is suggested are result decrease synthesis hypothalamus concerned with regulation level.
