摘要: This chapter applies multi-criteria evaluation (MCE) within a GIS to the problem of land suitability assessment in Dhaka. A total eight factors extracted from spatial database were used as predictors with analytic hierarchy process (AHP) followed by weighted linear combination (WLC) being identify areas appropriate for future urban development. The results revealed that approximately 21 % study area is highly suitable development, whereas 29 moderately suitable. About 26 land, comprised existing and waterbodies, shown be either unsuitable or very low development although some redevelopment vertical expansion may possible. analysis shows GIS-based has major implications rapidly growing city such Dhaka which can help planners decision-makers make better land-use planning decisions.
