摘要: Abstract Objective Quantitative assessment of balance in spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 (SCA1). Background Evaluation degenerative ataxias is often clinical and subject to bias. Quantification crucial for evaluating the efficacy therapeutic rehabilitative interventions. Methods The subjects were 20 patients (males: 14, females: 6) with genetically positive SCA1 age gender matched healthy subjects. Ataxia was rated using International Cooperative Rating Scale (ICARS). Balance assessed by dynamic posturography (Biodex, USA) which included: (a) ability control all directions (overall index, OBI), front back (anterior–posterior API) side-to-side (medio–lateral MLI); (b) limits stability (LOS) directions. index considered abnormal if actual value exceeded predictive value. Results Impaired found 80% (all indices 35%, OBI + API 25%, only OBI 15%, OBI + MLI 5%). Compared controls, had significantly higher lower LOS scores. Unlike mean API than MLI SCA1. best predictor abnormality. In patients, significant correlations ICARS, static score body weight, severity duration illness, but not CAG repeat length. Conclusions Patients global impairment balance, greater instability anterior–posterior medio–lateral Apart from weight detriment maintenance This information may be useful planning rehabilitation SCA.
