摘要: AbstractThe microstructures of the as cast and heat affected zone (HAZ) tungsten inert gas welded IN738 superalloy were studied. A different secondary solidification microconstituent was observed in front some γ–γ′ eutectic interdendritic regions alloy, which is likely formed by an invariant type reaction during terminal stage ingot solidification. On welding, alloy condition, suffered extensive grain boundary liquation cracking HAZ while fusion free exclusive centerline cracking. Subsolidus reactions microconstituent, MC carbides γ′ precipitate particles present preweld considerable volume fraction, to be major causes intergranular attendant Good wetting behaviour liquid film possibly aided surface active boron atoms released re...
