摘要: Objectives Patients with cerebral small vessel disease often present various motor, cognitive, and emotional changes, including gait disturbances, parkinsonism, depression. Substantia nigra hyperechogenicity, brain stem raphe hypoechogenicity, ventricle diameters, sonographic characteristics of other structures on transcranial sonography have been increasingly used as biomarkers in a range neurologic diseases. We aimed to explore the frequency clinical correlates findings symptomatic patients disease. Methods In cross-sectional study, neurologic, statuses magnetic resonance imaging were compared between 102 45 healthy age- sex-matched control participants. Results Compared controls, cases had more frequent hypoechogenicity (55.9% versus 11.1%; P < .0001), substantia hyperechogenicity (30.4% = .022), enlarged third ventricles (P .0001). correlated extrapyramidal features, cognitive impairment. Brain was associated diagnosis Enlargement lateral Pathologic severity ischemic lesions. Conclusions Transcranial shows pathologic substantial number disease, probably reflecting disruption frontostriatal pathways.
