摘要: We report results of a survey assessing patients' knowledge about and attitudes towards depression in Parkinson's disease (PD). 345 patients from 8 tertiary care centers responded (43% response rate). Overall, were relatively knowledgeable its occurrence PD. However, many believed that is normal reaction to the illness. While respondents would be reluctant initiate discussion during clinical evaluation, most feel comfortable talking with their physician if he or she asked them questions mood. Based on this survey, we recommend following approach for physicians: (1) inform PD that, although frequent occurrence, need not accepted as "normal reaction" PD; (2) routinely inquire depressive symptoms rather than waiting patient spontaneously them.
