Bile duct obstruction secondary to chronic pancreatitis in seven dogs.

摘要: Abstract Seven icteric dogs were determined to have bile duct obstruction secondary chronic pancreatitis. All had histories of intermittent vomiting and diarrhea. Alkaline phosphatase alanine aminotransferase activities total bilirubin concentrations markedly elevated. Diagnosis was based on exploratory laparotomy histological examination. Each dog a 3 10 cm mass in the body pancreas common duct. Three treated with pancreatectomy, gastrojejunostomy, cholecystojejunostomy died within five weeks. conservative surgical procedures alive at 8, 16, 26 months postoperatively. One euthanized because suspected neoplasia. Hepatic enzyme activity levels decreased surviving dogs. Histological examination pancreatic masses indicated biopsies revealed evidence cholestasis. Chronic pancreatitis should be included differential diagnoses icterus, obstruction, pancreas.
