摘要: Abstract The modern diatom distribution in the Laptev Sea, Arctic Ocean, was investigated 89 surface sediment samples. Diatom concentrations are relatively low showing values between 0.01×10 6 and 6.7×10 valves per gram dry sediment. Based on a factor analysis using seventeen taxa or groups five assemblages can be defined: ice assemblage of central region Chaetoceros eastern southeastern shelf, Thalassiosira antarctica continental slope deep sea, freshwater vicinity river mouths deltas, nordenskioeldii which shows patchy occurrence Sea shelf. pattern is significantly related to oceanographic conditions water masses. main factors controlling diatoms riverine input during summer strongly affects salinity conditions, sea-ice extent. Furthermore, composition largely influenced by dissolution lateral transport processes.
