摘要: Background: Little is known about the long-term results of endoscopic papillary balloon dilation (EPBD) for bile duct stones. Methods: Between 1995 and 2000, 204 patients with stones successfully underwent EPBD stone removal. Complete clearance was confirmed using cholangiography intraductal ultrasonography (IDUS). Long-term outcomes were investigated retrospectively in year 2007, risk factors recurrence multivariately analyzed. Results: information available 182 cases (89.2%), a mean overall follow-up duration 9.3 years. Late biliary complications occurred 22 (12.1%), 13 (7.1%), cholangitis 10 (5.5%), cholecystitis four, gallstone pancreatitis one. In 11 (84.6%), developed within 3 years after EPBD. All recurrent bilirubinate. Multivariate analysis identified three recurrence: dilated (>15 mm), previous cholecystectomy, no confirmation clean IDUS. Conclusion: Approximately 7% develop EPBD; however, retreatment retrograde cholangiopancreatography effective. Careful follow up necessary or cholecystectomy. IDUS useful reducing
