摘要: OBJECTIVE: Besides its important role in immune response and inflammatory processes the cytokine interleukin-6 (IL-6) is crucially involved carcinogenesis. A common polymorphism within gene encoding IL-6 (IL6) known to alter protein expression has been associated with patients' prognosis various malignancies. No data are available respect vulvar cancer. Therefore, we determined prognostic potential of - 174(G→C) single nucleotide promoter region IL6 a series patients this disease. METHODS: The was investigated 81 Caucasian surgically treated squamous cell cancer using pyrosequencing. Results were correlated clinical data. RESULTS: association ascertained between dinicopathologic parameters, ie, tumor stage, lymph node involvement, grade, patient's age at diagnosis. In an univariate analysis, involvement diagnosis patient prognosis. multirariate including stage as established factors 1L6 polymorphism, presence least one mutant allele, but not increased disease-free overall survival. CONCLUSION: Our suggest that might serve additional parameter
