摘要: Sugar-based surfactants are surface-active agents that gaining more and attention due to advantages regarding performance, biodegradability, low toxicity environmental compatibility. They have been commercially available for several decades they represent attractive substitutes petroleum-derived in many industrial applications such as food, detergency cosmetics. Indeed, these poly(oligo)ethylene glycol-free products exhibit a wide range of physicochemical properties can compete with or differ from those traditional ethoxylates. With the aim enlarge their application fields facilitate penetration markets dominated by non-renewable surfactants, research work is still necessary propose ‘greener’ ‘bluer’ molecules utilizing carbohydrate-based raw materials terrestrial marine origin, display innovative behaviours. The purpose this chapter present most recent findings concerning chemical syntheses new carbohydrate-containing potentiality formulation, special focus on development ionic versions sugar use original carbohydrate source, incorporation linkers between hydrophilic hydrophobic domains, one-pot transformation natural polysaccharides eco-friendly synthetic procedures.
