摘要: A method and apparatus for enhancing the contrast of a local area interest within an electronic image object, such as female breast, which has been transilluminated by non-ionizing radiation light or sound. The may be cancerous tumor, cyst another object differentially absorbs transmits radiation. Enhancement is normalization image. Normalization includes modeling illumination field to compensate non-uniformity field, then combining modeled with original Four processes are disclosed: Gaussian curve fitting, geometric mean smoothing, arithmetic smoothing only boundary interest. Also disclosed process highlighting areas result enhanced transmission radiation, potential sites, color mapping more than one displayed normalized analysis.
