摘要: This article investigates how the ownership of firms (affiliates foreign multinational firms, or uni-national firms) affects their internal workforce composition. We consider this issue empirically by adopting a novel database on composition companies operating in manufacturing industry north-east Italy. The (in terms skill level, gender and less investigated characteristics age nationality) affiliates enterprises (FMNs) are compared with counterfactual constructed using propensity score matching. Consistent previous studies, results report that FMNs recruit larger number highly-skilled workers. Our main findings show employ lower experienced (young) employment native more workers seems to suggest use domestic ‘inherited’ stock knowledge skills. By stock, they contribute sustaining its development.
