摘要: Inbreeding depression is a growing concern in livestock because it can detrimentally affect animal fitness, health, and production levels. Genomic information be used to more effectively capture variance Mendelian sampling, thereby enabling accurate estimation of inbreeding, but further progress still required. The calculation inbreeding for herd management purposes largely done using pedigree only, although coefficients calculated this manner have been shown less than genomic measures. Continuous stretches homozygous genotypes, so called runs homozygosity, provide better estimate autozygosity at the level conventional measures based on through or even relationship matrices. For improved targeted population level, development methods that incorporate mate selection programs may precise tool reducing detrimental effects dairy herds. Additionally, understanding architecture incorporating knowledge into breeding could significantly refine current practices. Opportunities maintain high levels genetic traits interest while managing homozygosity sustaining acceptable heterozygosity highly selected populations exist should examined closely continued sustainability both cattle as well industry. inclusion such mating programs, path forward. In symposium review article, we describe traditional recent developments made toward information. resulting from phenotypes, identification mapping haplotypes, with data, areas need research are discussed.
