摘要: Oxford, England has evolved a transport policy by default rather than design. A balance been struck between cycles, buses and the car based on bus priority, park ride vigorous parking controls in center. However, there is still need for city-wide strategy one city center alone. This paper provides an overview of early attempts to accommodate Oxford; it discusses principles behind 'balanced policy', which with modifications underpinned city's since 1973; summarizes consequences policy; lessons that can be drawn from Oxford experience.
