摘要: Interest in brown adipose tissue has increased recent years as a potential target for novel obesity, diabetes and metabolic disease treatments. One of the significant limitations to rapid progress been difficulty measuring activity, especially humans. Infrared thermography (IRT) is being increasingly recognized valid complementary method standard imaging modalities, such positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT). In contrast PET/CT, it non-invasive, cheap quick, allowing, first time, possibility large studies (BAT) on healthy populations children. Variations study protocols analysis methods currently limit direct comparison between but IRT following appropriate BAT stimulation consistently shows change supraclavicular skin temperature close association with results from measurements other methods.
