摘要: Abstract Mysid Neomysis americana links the benthic and pelagic food webs of numerous estuaries Western Atlantic. Aim was to understand vulnerability one their recruitment stages i.e. sub adults realistic ranges salinity temperature. Such may help present predict future latitudinal distribution. Sub N. were collected from Laguna de Rocha estuary, Uruguay exposed salinities 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 at each four experimental temperatures: 10 °C, 20 °C, 25 °C 30 °C, for 72 h. Irrespective temperature, survival lowest in 5. Survival overall high 15 but higher such as mysids struggled survive. particularly low highest 20 °C; did not improve significantly 30 °C. Results indicate that recruits can only withstand intermediate temperatures. Their during seasonal anomalies, floods droughts cannot be ruled out. Narrow range temperature tolerance a reason absence cold temperate warm tropical Atlantic coasts South America. In context climatic warming, extend its distribution along southern Argentina towards northern Brazil.
