摘要: Abstract This paper aims to assess greenhouse gases’ (GHG) emissions in the life cycle of wood bio-concretes (WBC) production when recycled shavings (WS) are used as a circular economy (CE) strategy. Two WBC were evaluated, one with higher content WS (WBC HC) and another lower (WBC-LC). Different recycling transportation scenarios evaluated. The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology was used, considering cradle-to-gate scope, comparing two methods for calculation GHG emissions: IPCC GWP100 GWPbio. transport analysis carried out 26 Brazilian cities, according different locations where waste generated. In order increase robustness study, sensitivity performed for: types allocation, origin (waste x virgin materials), efficiency, electricity grid matrix. We verified that resulted climate change mitigation all cases (when biogenic carbon is considered). However, this benefit can vary availability efficiency. Therefore, must deserve special attention CE evaluation. When GWPbio method CO2 capture during eucalypt growth accounted for, be very low (15 kgCO2-eq/m³). conclude use considered good sink pathway low-carbon construction industry.
