摘要: This document provides managers with a literature synthesis of the historical conditions, current fire regime condition classes (FRCC), and recommended treatments for major ecosystems in southern Utah. Sections are by include: 1) coniferous forests (ponderosa pine, mixed conifer, Engelmann spruce-subalpine fir), 2) aspen, 3) pinyon-juniper, 4) big black sagebrush, 5) desert shrubs (creosotebush, blackbrush, interior chaparral). Southern Utah is at ecological crossroads much western United States. It contains steep environmental gradients broad range fuels regimes associated vegetation types representative Rocky Mountains, Great Basin, Northern Arizona New Mexico, Mohave Desert. The Demonstration Area consists contiguous state federal lands within administrative boundaries Bureau Land Management (BLM), Fishlake Dixie National Forests, Park Sevice, State Utah, roughly encompassing 15 percent (3.24 million ha). described similar species composition, stand structure, ecologic function, including to found on hundreds millions hectares 11 states.
