摘要: Abstract Green leaf volatiles (GLVs), generally occurring C 6 alcohols, aldehydes and acetates from plants, play an important role in plant–plant communication. These compounds induce intact plants to produce jasmonic acid, defense-related gene expression the release of volatile compounds. Here, we address wound-induced GLVs cause acetylated derivatives a terpenoid, ( E )-4,8-dimethylnona-1,3,7-triene (DMNT) maize, which may be type interaction mediated by airborne GLVs. Upon exposure maize seedlings GLVs, Z )-3-hexenyl acetate was consistently most abundant compound released. Exogenous application individual alcohols mostly resulted corresponding esters. -alcohols with double bond between second third, or third fourth carbon atoms, 5 - -aldehydes, triggered DMNT. When hexyl were used treat seedlings, they recovered plants. data demonstrated that: (1) apart direct adsorption re-release esters, absorption conversion exogenous into esters occurred, (2) DMNT induced range unsaturated alcohols.
