Molecular Responses to the Zika Virus in Mosquitoes.

摘要: The Zika virus (ZIKV), originally discovered in 1947, did not become a major concern until the swept across Pacific and into Americas last decade, bringing with it news of neurological complications birth defects ZIKV affected areas. This prompted researchers to dissect molecular interactions between mosquito vector an attempt better understand only changes that occur upon infection, but also identify molecules may potentially enhance or suppress mosquito’s ability infected and/or transmit virus. Here, we review what is currently known regarding ZIKV-mosquito interactions, focusing on infection Aedes aegypti albopictus, primary species implicated transmitting during recent outbreaks.
