摘要: Abstract Conscious ovariectomized (OVX) rats bearing a cannula implanted in the third ventricle were injected with 2 μl of 0.9% NaCl containing varying doses substance P (SP) or neurotensin (NT) and plasma GH TSH levels measured by RIA jugular blood samples drawn through an indwelling silastic catheter. Control injections physiologic saline iv into did not modify hormone levels. Intraventricular injection SP NT at either 0.5 μg elevated concentrations within 5 min they remained for 60 min. Third ventricular similar had no effect on TSH. An intermediate dose 1 given but Incubation hemipituitaries from OVX alter release medium was enhanced 100 more ng/ml medium. It is suggested that acts centrally to stimulate growth hormone-releasing factor (GRF) inhibit somatostatin thereby enhance directly pituitary release.
