General Belongingness, Workplace Belongingness, and Depressive Symptoms

摘要: Research has shown that a strong relationship exists between belongingness and depressive symptoms; however, the contribution of specific types remains unknown. Participants (N=369) completed sense belonging instrument, psychological organizational membership, depression scale anxiety stress scales. Factor analysis demonstrated workplace general are distinct constructs. When regressed onto symptoms, these made independent contributions, together accounting for 45% variance, with no moderation effects evident. Hence, appear to have additive links symptoms. These results add support hypothesis sociometer theory significant implication prevention treatment. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
