The Thoracic Surgery Social Media Network: Early Experience and Lessons Learned

摘要: Background The Thoracic Surgery Social Media Network (TSSMN) is a social media collaborative formed in 2015 by Annals of and Journal Cardiovascular to bring attention key publications from both journals highlight major accomplishments the specialty. Our aim describe TSSMN's preliminary experience lessons learned. Methods Twitter analytics was used obtain information regarding @TSSMN handle #TSSMN hashtag. TweetChat general hashtag were measured using Symplur (Symplur LLC, Los Angeles, CA). A TSSMN Tweeter App created, its use downloads analyzed. Results Hashtag has total 17,181 tweets, 2,100 users, 32,226,280 impressions, with peaks tweeting activity corresponding TweetChats. Thirteen 1-hour TweetChats drew 489 participants, 5195 17,297,708 impressions. top demographic category participants included Doctors (47%), Advocates/Supports (11%), Unknown (10%), 3% characterized as patients. iTunes (Apple, Cupertino, CA) downloaded 3319 times global representation. 859 articles viewed through App, 450 409 Surgery. Conclusions We demonstrate that further enhances ability for connect their readership cardiothoracic community. Ongoing studies correlate article reads, article-level metrics, citations, journal impact factor are eagerly awaited.
