摘要: Abstract A classic lake breeze circulation cell that formed on the western shore of Lake Michigan 4 September 1974 is studied in great detail. Wind measurements are made with surface anemometers and serial pibals, air trajectories monitored via tetroons. Aircraft map thermal internal boundary layer small large aerosol distributions. Recirculation pollutants indicated from analysis tetroon data. Aerosol suggest size sorting versus particles as they transported through complex three-dimensional flow. These wind data also form basis a kinematic diagnostic study mesoscale pollution transport coastal areas, to be reported subsequent paper.
