摘要: We address the problem of stochastic simulation soil particle-size curves (PSCs) in heterogeneous aquifer systems. Unlike traditional approaches that focus solely on a few selected features PSCs (e.g., quantiles), our approach considers entire and can optionally include conditioning available data. rely prior work to model as cumulative distribution functions interpret their density functional compositions. thus approximate latter through an expansion over appropriate basis functions. This enables us (a) effectively deal with data dimensionality constraints (b) develop method for based upon suitable well defined projection procedure. The new theoretical framework allows representing reproducing complete information content embedded PSC As first field application, we demonstrate quality unconditional conditional simulations obtained methodology by considering set collected within shallow alluvial Neckar river valley, Germany.
