摘要: Emergent behaviors of multi-cellular biological systems (MCBS) result from the each individual cells and their interactions with other environment. Modeling MCBS requires incorporating these complex among approaches for can be grouped into two categories: continuum models cell-based models. Continuum usually take form partial differential equations, model equations provide insight relationship components in system. Cell-based simulate cell behavior them enabling observation emergent system behavior. This review focuses on MCBS, especially, technical aspect rule-based simulation method is reviewed. How to implement environment computational domain discussed. The reviewed this paper are division, migration, apoptosis/necrosis, differentiation. environmental factors such as extracellular matrix, chemicals, microvasculature, forces also Application examples presented.
