摘要: The need for salinity tolerance of turfgrasses is increasing because the augmented use effluent or other low quality water (seawater) turfgrass irrigation. Diverse populations including 34 entries 16 species were screened salt from Peninsular Malaysia under sand culture system. Irrigation seawater different levels (0, 24, 48, and 72 dS m-1) applied to grown in a plastic pots filled with mixture peat (9:1). grasses ranked on basis shoot root growth, leaf firing, turf colour quality. most tolerant was 'P. vaginatum' (UPM), 'local', 'Z. matrella, Z. japonica, C. dactylon' 'satiri' , 'C. (Kuala Muda) which able tolerate high 48 m-1, while, least group (24 consisted 'E. ophiuroides', notatum' 'A. compressus' 'cowgrass' affinis' 'pearl blue' (UPM). results indicate importance varietal selection saline environments.
