摘要: Active capture is a new process for the incorporation of large quantities heavy noble gases into growing surfaces. Adsorption in conventional sense involves surface bonding by polarization (Van der Waals forces). What referred to as "anomalous adsorption" chemical bonds and can occur when other (more chemically active) species are not available preempt sites with unfilled bonds. Anomalous adsorption has been observed under conditions fracture, vacuum deposition ionizing radiation. depends upon anomalous retain on long enough be captured film it deposited. The fundamental principle may impingement onto sufficient energy liberate electrons (work function few electronvolts) so that they retained entrapped surface. Trapping efficiencies ~1% have Kr Xe laboratory experiments, implying fundamentally mechanism It play role explaining concentrations planetary contained phase-Q.
