摘要: The economic viability of the transesterification process triglycerides is enhanced by valorisation main by-product, glycerol. Glycerol quality depends on biodiesel characteristics. This chapter describes new high-volume products and applications based direct use crude glycerol as a platform substrate, cost-effective purification processes, innovative commercial (bio)catalytic conversion into commodity chemicals selective oxidation, hydrogenolysis dehydration, pyrolysis gasification, steam reforming, thermal reduction, (trans)esterification etherification, oligomerisation polymerisation, chlorination carboxylation.
