On the eosin‐sensitized photooxidation of phenolic‐type contaminants. Evaluation through oxygen uptake measurements

摘要: In this paper we propose a method to provide rapid estimation of the easiness photooxidative‐singlet molecular oxygen mediated‐degradation substituted phenolic‐type contaminants. Relative rates consumption upon eosin‐sensitized photoirradiation phenolic contaminants were straightforwardly compared in order obtain comparative scale. The validity was tested using twelve phenols. An excellent correlation found between rate uptake aqueous alkaline media and Hammett‐type parameter R‐ for p‐substituted derivatives.
