摘要: Many orofacial pain conditions involve inflammation of tissues and they range from acute pulpitis (toothache) mucositis to chronic arthritic affecting the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). This article reviews peripheral central neural mechanisms involved in inflammatory states, including integral role that sensitization play features characterize these states. It also outlines recent evidence for contribution non-neural processes, especially those involving glial cells.
