摘要: ABSTRACT Objective (1) To determine the relationship between acculturative stress, depressive symptoms, and suicidal ideation in a sample of immigrant second-generation Latino-American adolescents, (2) to best predictors stress symptoms. Method Subjects were 40 female 30 male students from bilingual program southern California high school. Measures used Short Acculturation Scale for Hispanics, SAFE measure, Family Assessment Device, Reynolds Adolescent Depression Scale, Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire-Junior, an open-ended question measuring individual attitudes expectations toward future. A cross-sectional design was used. Results One fourth adolescents reported critical levels depression ideation, which positively correlated with stress. Multiple regression analyses revealed that perceived family dysfunction nonpositive "expectations future" significant depression. Conclusions suggest some acculturating Latino experience These are also "at risk" experiencing ideation. Findings highlight importance assessing treating depressed potentially adolescent within cultural context.
